Relationships First

Restorative Justice Education

If our schools and office spaces are to truly reflect the spirit of relationships first and restorative justice in education (RF/RJE), then our walls can be adorned with reminders of our inherent worth in the whole school community. We are excited to see your creative ideas on how your staff and students are expressing this message through a RF/RJE-themed bulletin board challenge!

Bulletin boards can come from the school common areas, classrooms, or even the staff room! The submissions with your name will be honoured by being posted on our website, Facebook, and Twitter and your name will be entered into a draw where 10 participants will receive 2 items of your choice from our #RFBookClub (see below)

Any preK-12 educator in Canada may enter the challenge by sending us a digital photo of their bulletin board and a brief description of how it ties into RF/RJE practices-- (more details below). Entrants must have a valid email address for communication. Relationships First board members are not eligible to participate in the contest.

How to enter:

  • Complete the submission form below;

  • Official entries must also include a 100-150 word explanation of how your BB ties into key RF ideas as described on the RF website, in the Little Book of RJE, and/or in the RF Implementation Guide.

  • Email this document and a photo of your bulletin board (and signed waiver to distribute) to rfrjnl@mun.ca with the subject heading "RF Bulletin Board Challenge".

Selection criteria:

Participants who meet all eligibility requirements will be honoured by having their bulletin board posted on our website, FB, and Twitter accounts. Check daily and share your entries far and wide using the hashtag #RFChallenge. Eligible entries will also be entered into our draw and on Nov. 30 ten winners will be chosen. (Note: extra acknowledgement may be given to those BBs that are interactive and/or designed and created by students)

  • Winners will receive a valuable and informative #RFBookClub prize of your choice from:

  • RF/RJE Implementation Guide (hard copy)

  • A set of RF/RJE Posters;
